I attended a UFO confab a number of years ago.
The most memorable event was a "channeling" of an alien.
Do you remember the era of the channeling of ancient Rantha by J Z Knight?
Well, that was the time frame of this event.
What I witnessed was the channeling of some intergalactic being by a woman who got up in front of the group of paid conference attendees who appeared then to go into a trance after which she began to spout some gibberish having summoned communication with the space alien.
And I'm thinking of this pathetic space alien that has to be at the beck and call of this earthling and I was feeling sorry for him.
