We'll see about that.
India and China have fought back and forth in a territory dispute for decades.
Russia has had influence in India since the Brits left and the Nehru-Ghandi family took control of the government. That will likely change with the new political party coming to power.

In all fairness, according to the article it was in 2005 that the US disenfranchised this guy by punishing him on behalf of the muslims he was suppressing. That would make this another Obama/Bush foreign policy victory.

Why the west constantly rushes to the aid of Islam contrary to its own interests is a mystery to me.

They should not have announced the total. Now the Democrats will want to top that number when it comes to the popular votes in the 2016 Presidential election. (Might be hard unless voters are not required to show photo IDs.)

I disagree. Unless the Obama administration does something incredibly stupid, Modi will probably improve Indo-US ties. Regardless of the personal snub (which probably means he won’t be in a hurry to visit the White House), he is smart enough not to rupture relations with a country that most Indians think well of. His plans for economic growth will also include more closer ties with the U.S., not less.

Relations with Russia will always be good but ties with China are being overblown here. While economic ties will improve, Modi will likely be much tougher with China on border issues. Indeed the countries that will be closest to the new government led by Mr.Modi will be Japan & Israel, two countries he is known to feel very close to.
