Sadly, this is par-for-the-course in majority black districts. Once elected, they become a Congressman (or woman) for life, and demand to be treated as royalty—when they’re not trying to enrich their family members or key constituents.

By all accounts, working for Congressional “queens” like Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson-Lee and Corrine Brown is absolute hell, with subordinates treated more like servants than professional staff. Personally, I feel very sorry for the press aides to these clowns, who are called on to explain the latest idiotic statement from the Congressional member.

Not that it really matters. With their gerrymandered districts, they are guaranteed re-election, and the Democratic establishment in their state makes sure that no one runs against them. So, they’ve got a free license to voice their stupidity and engage in questionable behavior until they retire or die in office.

Meanwhile, African-American politicians like Senator Tim Scott and Oklahoma House Speaker (and future Senator) T.W. Shannon are called “Uncle Toms” because they don’t need a black-majority district to win elections.
