Dumb enough that we brought down the Soviet Empire without destroying the world, and saved Western Civilization and the United States?

Stinger missiles were the big factor against the Soviets, and in combat, the Mujaheddin are not exactly super warriors against us as we defeat them on the battlefield.

As far as Vietnam, even if some 1943 Rangers were doing some primitive training of Vietnamese in 1943, it didn't account for their fighting capabilities in the 1960s, we were also always defeating them on the battlefield.
