There absolutely has to be a purge of the Republican Party if it is to survive. I favor any means necessary, including a new party, to achieve that end.
What I don’t favor is the misguided idea that writing in McDaniel (which is his name, not McDaniels) will solve anything. All it will do is get the ballot thrown out, and downticket conservatives will suffer. As others have said, a court challenge and a new election is the best way to go.
By all means, get rid of Thud Cochran and all his enablers, some of whom appear to deserve prison time if the story can be believed. And let’s work as hard as we possibly can to get conservatives elected.
Where my question is that it’s at the point where we should work AGAINST Cochran and anyone who supports him or was complicit in this outrage. A US Senate with a smaller minority of Republicans, but overwhelmingly conservative is a much better result than a majority dominated by the backstabbers. Look how many times they worked against the HOR conservatives in the past few years.
