One thing Ayers said four times, which was a lie, was that the US was killing “6,000 Vietnamese a week” during the war.
That comes out to 312,000 a year (52 x 6,000). He implied that they were all So. Vietnamese, mainly civilians and some liberation forces, the Viet Cong (won’t say No. Vietnamese, who were being killed in large numbers starting in 1965, esp. at the Ia Drang Valley).
Civilian casualties in SVn due to all causes are debated but were significant because:
*the Viet Minh (later the Viet Cong/NLF), started their campaign of terrorism in 1955 and ramped it up during the mid-1960’s, cuminating in the Hue Massacre of about 8,000 So. Vietnamese civilians, govt officials and captured ARVN soldiers (I have a list of almost 4,000 of these victims, plus another SVN book listing over 62,000 SVN officials and others kidnapped/killed by the VC/NVA from 1954 - 1972).
Figures on Communist terrorism caused casualties in SVN up to December 1971, can be found in the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee compendium study Dave Martin and I did in 1971, published in Feb. 1972. It should be on the internet, or at the Texas Tech Vietnam Archives site.
An update of these figures should appear in the decades later “Black Book of Communism” (about 1991).
It is estimated, based on the figures in the Senate study, Senate hearings on refugees (often fudged by Sen. Kennedy’s staff), and the Aurora Foundation study of Hanoi’s murderous occupation of So. Vietnam after it fell to the communists, that at least 150,000 So. Vietnamese civilians were killed by the reds in a deliberate campaign of murder.
About 250,000 ARVN/VNAF/Navy forces were killed in action, with tens of thousands being executed or killed by other means in concentration camps.
Tens of thousands of SVN officials and civilians were kidnapped by the Communists and literally none ever returned
(a handful were in a prisoner exchange and ARVN/US forces liberated a few VC concentration camps in the Mekong Delta).
Hanoi admitted that it lost over 1,000,000 (1.3 million) troops during the war (whether this included VC/NLF forces - indigenous southern communists, is not clear).
Also unclear is whether this 1.3 M included PAVN troops lost in Laos and Cambodia (where at least 6 NVA divisions were encamped - 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th Divisions. I interviewed NVA POWS in Cambodia from the 6th Division, a unit which later showed up at the battle of An Loc).
Ayers claim that we killed “6,000 SVN a week” is just another in his long psychopathic lying campaign to justify his/Weathermen bombing/terrorism campaign in the US, including the murder of San Franciso policeman Brian McDonnell.
His wife, Bernadine Dohrn, is also a psychopath, but she is smart enough to keep her mouth shut, leaving hubby to do the disinformation campaign about who the Weathermen really were.
Megan Kelly did a good job of challenging him on the domestic scene terrorism, but she didn’t know anything about Vietnam and couldn’t challenge his “6,000” dead claim.
However, those of us who were in So. Vietnam and Cambodia can and will continue to do so.
Meanwhile, we are also working to put both Dohrn and Ayers in jail, for life, for the murder of Officer McDonnell. They did it but the evidence that could put them away was compromised by the police and not admissible in court.

Tonight Ayers will lie again, but hopefully Kelly will counter him whenever she can. He’s a smug, arrogant marxist psychopath, but that can also be his undoing.
We need to keep the research pressure on because one day something is going to be found that can be admissible in court and it will put his red ass in jail forever.
Obama will be sadly missing a couple of his neighborhood friends. After all, he performed his political coup in their house in going after leftist Alice Palmer’s seat in the Illinois Senate. That meeting was so full of communists and assorted marxists that you couldn’t spit in the room without hitting one. Color Obama “red”.
In fact, Obama’s neighborhood was so full of communists, radicals, racial extremists and wackos that it could serve as the perfect model for a lunatic asylum (Wright, Farrakhan, Wolfe, Ayers/Dohrn, etc). Maybe this explains why Obama is both a marxist, a closet Moslem and a traitor.
