They are fighting ISIS and winning? Has anybody pointed this out to Iraq?

Count me as being in favor of utilizing the Redenbacher Doctrine in that part of the world.

What kind of rationale do they use to come to that rather silly conclusion?

They don't get any kickbacks from the arms dealers for "barrel bombs".

When you don’t give a fig what the world thinks that is when you have a chance to win. Any combatant that tailors it’s strategy and tactics to the opinion of others has already lost.

So basically it's just a barrel of anfo and scrap metal.

Sounds like that's about it.

A Molotov Cocktail is just a breakable bottle, liquid fuel and a combination wick & plug.

During the Hungarian Revolution, freedom fighters would wait in an alley until a Russian tank rumbled by, then run out with a length of iron water pipe, jamb it between the tank tread and rear sprocket. Then they would watch as it broke the tread and the tank ran around in circles since only one tread was functioning.

"Smart Weapons" are great, but not essential.

More people are killed in the USA every year by hammers & clubs than with rifles. Twice as many are killed with hands & fists as with rifles.

Got quite an education from him in how to make big rocks into little rocks. He used fertilizer and diesel, and a blasting cap. Cheap, effective and versatile.

My buddy on 'Nam used to talk of how he & his dad would dig a 6 foot deep hole in a shallow gully, break open two 100lb bags of NH4NO3 fertilizer, pour in two jerry cans of diesel then drop in a 1/4 stick of dynamite with blasting cap.

When the rains came, the resulting 30 foot diameter crater would fill up and make a nice stock tank for the cattle to drink from. Their Montana farm needed all the water catchment they could make.
