Thank you my friend. These are going to be, in essence, Marine Corps aircraft carriers, freeing up the nuclear carriers from some of their Marine ground support roles.

That second one show clearly that the America has no well deck. Allows a lot more room for aviation. She will perform extremely well for air assault, but no LCACs. She will also allow for a LOT more F-35B fighters to operate off of her deck.

They got rid of the five inch forward cannons. Bummer.
I miss the live fire exercises we had on the Peleliu (LHA-5).
I was on the firewatch team in the acclime room between them when they went off. Those Gunner's Mates would always keep them both in pristine condition.
