I think Lt Gov candidate Dan Patrick was the first to talk about number of crimes.
Too bad he didn’t do something more substantial, like have the National Guard actually APPREHEND all illegals.
However, he has given the National Guard orders only to observe.
Even his staff admits that he has the authority to issue orders for the National Guard to APPREHEND the illegals.
He tries to differentiate between those with a criminal record. However, they have broken the law crossing the border, and shortly, they will commit felonies getting fake IDs and accessing Social Services that they have no right too.
Rick could solve this problem for Texas, actually show himself to be a leader, and actually poll-vault himself into the Presidency if he would actually do the right thing.
But he won’t.
I’m sure this will be on CNN, MSLSD, ABC, NBC, etc. in the morning.
Democrats want the votes for their power, and Republicans want the cheap labor for their Chamber of Commerce constituency.
...and they want it at whatever the cost to US, not them.
They come to prey upon this country and its citizens.

Did he give any actual stats...as in over the course of how many years the murders and assaults ocurred? I don’t doubt that violence have ocurred...just don’t accept too many pol’s word about anything anymore. Perry stikes me as someone who stretches his ‘facts’.
Just look inside a Texas prison and who is sitting there. Entirely disproportionate.
Of course the American liberal (AKA idiot), would use that as an argument for how law enforcement and the courts are racists.
The problem is simple to understand. There are many good Mexicans, but those that have to run, jump, or swim to get across the border, often are not those. In fact, they are disproportionately criminals, ill with infectious diseases, poorly educated, and unskilled labor. It’s not the neurosurgeon in Mexico city that is trying to get across the border illegally.
Obama calls these criminals “opportunists”

And the sad fact is I bet a majority of those crimes were committed against Latinos.
Yesterday, I received a letter from my Congressman Steve Stivers, Ohio. It was in response to the the border situation. In his response, he cited two amendments to HR 4660. One is funding to investigate discretionary enforcement decisions releasing 36,000 illegals in 2013. The second calls for the DOJ to prohibit funds from going to cities that have passed and enacted sanctuary cities or political subdivisions which is in violation of not enforcing current law. He further states: I am proud to have supported Rep. King’s amendments, pending in the Senate. “IT IS EXTREMELY CONCERNING THAT THE RELEASED IMMIGRANTS COMMITTED OVER 88,000 CRIMES.
His position is clear in another statement: “WE MUST BE ABLE TO ENFORCE OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM IN A LEGAL AND ORDERLY WAY WHICH SHOULD NOT INCLUDE GRANTING AMNESTY TO THOSE HERE ILLEGALLY.”
Yet, Perry supports amnesty for illegal aliens.
