I’ve had thoughts of creating a pitch for a reality-based TV Show titled something along the lines of “BREAKING LIBERAL”. The show would involve placing young (and perhaps a sprinkling of older) liberal/progressive individuals in situations where the irrationality of their ideas would be exposed to those perceptive and open-minded enough to learn from their experiences and begin evolving their beliefs and behaviors. The cast members would NOT know that this was the direction of the show. Periodically a team of “unseen” judges would vote a cast member off the show based upon how how much they’ve shown a lack of ability to learn from their experiences and continue to cling to their irrational belief systems. At the end of the show, the only remaining cast members would be those who actually learned from their experiences and developed common sense along with conservative beliefs. These surviving cast members would earn cash rewards which would help them move on with constructive lives.
Of course I’m just kidding about this, the various production organizations would NEVER accept such a pitch. Now “BREAKING CONSERVATIVE”? They’d buy that in a heartbeat.
No, it’s a great idea. Have a liberal and a conservative team, give them enough seed money for first month’s rent and utilities and see who lasts longer.
