HUNTSVILLE, Alabama --Immigration detainees housed at the Etowah County Jail went on a brief hunger strike Thursday and today to protest the poor quality of food they are served, an immigrant rights group said.
But an Etowah County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman said the protest was not a hunger strike because it did not last 72 hours."Several detainees refused three meals, which does not constitute a hunger strike, beginning Thursday ... today, Friday, August 8, 2014, the detainees accepted and ate lunch," spokeswoman Natalie Barton said. "Etowah County Detention Center staff quickly resolved the refusal of food and addressed the detainees concerns in a professional and responsible manner.

they are fasting and praying...............
Probably one of Obama's community organizer agents.
I'm guessing they'd eat it as most Central Americans have no issues eating pork.
Tell them the grits are polenta. It's the same damned thing anyway.
In WWII, truly starving people in Stalingrad and the camps ate the wall paper paste off the walls.
And these supposedly “starving” illegals are starting a hunger strike because the food good enough for American prisoners is not good enough for illegal alien felons( illegal entry in the US is a felony crime) ?
This hunger strike really highlights the primary reason why these illegals must be sent home - because the new masses of illegals are simply intended to be fodder for community organizers to organize into pressure groups to extort their agenda on the American people.
If recent history with Hugo Chavez in Venezuela is any indication, community organizing mass immigrants into non violent demonstrators and pressure groups is only the first stage.
The second stage is organizing them into violent gangs who act as enforcers to intimidate the general population into accepting the takeover of the country by a dictatorship and the enforcement of tyranny
The Current FReepathon Pays For The Current Quarters Expenses?
That was my first thought too. let sheriff Joe educate them on what lunch for illegals should be.
The funniest line was when they were ‘forced” to pay for their own food in the commissary. They paid with money WE the taxpayer give them, a small allowance each month.
Two good old boys were talking about coonhounds and what to feed them. One said his hounds were happy with collard greens and the other said his dogs wouldn’t eat collard greens. The first coonhunter said, “my dogs wouldn’t eat collard greens either, until about two weeks and they decided to try them”.
Check youtube for ,Taco stands in Mexico ,disgusting
Nothing wrong with baloney sandwiches and grape Kool Aid.
My parents and other adults taught us to eat the food given to us. I remember in lower elementary school, I did not want to eat green peas. A teacher talked me into trying the school kind and I loved them. I was influenced by friends about them. Now, I will try about any food. I tried alligator but not again. It may have been the way it was cooked in the Everglades but it was awful but I did try it.
Since the beginning of time?
Want chicken nuggets! Don't want broccoli! Waaaah!
Is this one of those goofy “hunger strikes” where the maggots take turns missing meals? ROTFL! Even the whining “protestors” in this country REALLY SUCK these days. They do everything half @$$.
They have a choice.
Take it or leave it.
Tuff noogies. Eat or starve. Better yet, take the lice-ridden, scabies-infested disease-infected garbage out to a bus about to be sent to the scrapyard and send them back over the border. After branding them so if they return, we will know that they had previously illegally entered the U.S.
