Real easy to open your heart when you aren’t paying for it.

Now that's the best description of the American people I have read in a while.

McAllen isn’t exactly a thriving metropolis-what are they going to do with these illegals-put them to work in the only industry there-citrus and other orchards/vegetable fields?

Born and brought up in rural S Texas, I assure you that McAllen is nothing fabulous-a nearby town, Pharr has a lovely shrine to St. Jude to visit and buy holy water, but McAllen is a place on Hwy 83 to buy a bottle of water or a beer to tide you over until you take the cutoff further on to get to South Padre Island, the beach, condos, etc...

My inlaws lived there for quite a few years and enjoyed shopping across the border. Five years ago they got out as it became dangerous and were afraid to cross over. Even their neighborhood that was predominantly white retirees began changing for the worse.

The shopkeepers in McAllen I’ve met speak English-it is, after all on the highway to the beach-tourists need food and drinks...

My grandparents were friends with a couple who were carnies-used to take the show on the road in Spring and Summer, and had a Winter home and orchard outside McAllen, along with other carnies and snowbirds.

The shopkeepers in McAllen? In McAllen or just outside of it, probably. Latinos born in Texas do speak English as their first language...

“Remember The Alamo!”

It’s even more sophisticated than it seems.

Obummer will grant amnesty to her and her little child, and, since it just wouldn’t be right to separate families, he’ll invite her hubby and 2 other kids to come on in, too. Oh, I’m sure there are grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. - - have to reunite the entire familia doncha know.
