My suggestions for your beagles:
1. Try a part fish diet, either raw or cooked (I prefer raw sardines). 25% of my dogs’ calories comes from fish.
2. Add bovine colostrum to your dog's diet. I give my dogs a 500 milligram capsule a day. It helps build up your dog's immune system. You can get this on Amazon.com for about $12/120 capsules.

I thought about the camera possibly distorting the image, but something is very wrong. That poor dog’s head is way too large for a normal GSD.
Been following the Facebook page on him and it looks like he might have been saved thankfully. I have quite the soft spot for Shepherds. We’ve rescued 2 over the past couple years. Once we buy a house with a good chunk of land, we plan to rescue more.
Looking at the perspective of the picture I think it’s a bad cell phone pic -his head does look huge compared to the rest of his body and the lines on the flooring seem to be somewhat skewed toward the middle, not much but some.

Yup....Dynovite has controlled my dog’s allergies, which I believe are immune system problems, apparently as a result of nutrient uptake in the gut.
i have volunteered in shelters. people put down fake reasons for surrenders all the time. they just don’t want to put down ‘we don’t want to take care of him anymore’.
if pets are considered kids’ responsibilities when (WHEN) the kids lose interest the parents haven’t ever recognized the pets were ultimately their responsibilities and that’s when fido or fluffy gets turned in. some get them very young and don’t want to pay for spays/neuters to mellow behavior, so they get turned in.
many ways to rationalize it.
all’my guys are rescues. i vowed to all that this was their forever home. no matter what. i’d make sure i would always take care of them if i was alive.
sorry you had to do that. there are genuine cases of allergies, i know, i am allergic to cats and to certain breeds of dogs.
the majority of turn ins that say ‘allergies’ are not really because of allergies.
A dog or cat is a commitment - you buy it, you take on the obligation to take care of that animal until the end of it’s life, or you undertake to find a good new home for the animal. A shelter which will euthanize the animal does not qualify as a good new home. I think a lot of the people who take their animals down to shelters which euthanize would gladly have flushed their dog or cat down the toilet as they doubtless did with their goldfish, if only the animal fit.

I don’t care much for dogs but the owners in this situation are trash...pure trash. It doesn’t seem like there are very many decent people in this country anymore.
I overheard a guy at the vet’s office talking about using Dinovite for his dog’s allergies and how it did not work, but I noticed, down-thread, someone saying it worked for their dog.
Vet approved, we give our 62 pound Aussie mix, one Loratadine tablet (generic $4 for 30) a day and two Benadryls before bedtime. It keeps the itching down and has totally stopped the biting and licking. Much, much better than the predisone route of last summer!
i understand allergies but you did the right thing, doesn't sound like it in this case
I have used Dinovite with great results. Yes it is pricey but I believe it is worth the cost. Of course YMMV but I’d say give it a try.
