You're right about that. But txhurl, I didn't know the guy. I don't know that he spent his life seeking God. It's impossible to say. Maybe he did, but some folks don't do that until the end.
God is merciful, though, and I'm thankful for that...as a sinner, I've messed up and needed His mercy countless times, and will again.
Even if you're right, and Williams didn't recognize the Lord during his lifetime, we can pray things turned out different at the end.
God heard his cries throughout his life, he will be merciful.
