I read a similar article to the included here some months ago. Perhaps it is not in the genetic code. However, I think there may be only a small percentage of those who choose’ homosexuality, derived from atypical life experiences. It would seem logical that if not genetic then the premise of an in womb development is logical. Which means it is preventable or curable someday medically during fetal development.
Genetic modifications that respond to hormones in the womb may explain the development of homosexuality.

How often does someone mention a mustache or facial hair on a woman, or an adam’s apple on a woman as a sign of them being a “butch” lesbian?

It is not hard to find Freepers who use PHYSICAL characteristics (Which are obviously, and by definition, hereditary) to call someone “gay”.
There is no gay gene. That much is certain.
There may be however, conditions pre-birth that cause this defect in the unborn child’s brain. This will then be exacerbated or ‘activated’ by life experience (see the link between children who are sexually abused and then become homosexual).
I just find it very unfortunate that the perversion has been politicized and turned into some kind of ‘Civil Rights campaign’ because while we may find a way to prevent other disorders, this one’s cure may be hindered by activists.
I’m guessing here, not a geneticist but intuitively:
Homosexuality could be simply the the combination of various genes, in which case, it would still be genetic, just not a specific gene, and would not be selected out of the species.
As a very silly example, if the color Blue has sex with the color Green, the resulting child might be a Yellow. Even if Yellow can not ‘breed’ and make colors for children, Yellow would still consistently appear in the Color species.
It could be a defect in some gene, like the genes responsible for attraction. Obviously trying to mate with the same gender indicates a defect of some sort.
A person can be ‘born homosexual’ without it being due to a genetic cause. Children are born damaged all the time because of behaviors of the mother at critical points in pregnancy.
The problem with the “gay gene would die out” theory is it assumes that no “gay” would have any children, ever.
That assumes that due to a “gay” inclination, a “gay” person would not go ahead and marry/and/or/at-least/have children, in spite of that “gay” inclination - for social reasons (peer & family pressure) and any other reason.
Yet that assumption is contrary to what has been reported by sociologists & the “gay” community for quite a long time - that in fact a sizable number of “gays” in the past DID (and some still do) marry and bare children out of the social pressures to do so.
That also is no proof that there IS a “gay” gene, but it proves that even if there was a “gay” gene, it would not have died out (at least not entirely) as “gays” would still make up some portion of the child bearing population, in spite of their “gay” preference.
And even more telling, genetically, is IF there was (A BIG IF as there is no proof pf a “gay” gene) a “gay” gene that was only “activated” when some other gene was also present, making a condition where the “gay” gene could be carried, & not always expressed but passed on.
I do not think there is any proof of a “gay” gene. But the theory that it would “die out” is in error and is not a proof that there is not one.

I have known several who were born with both male and female sex organs. This is how I see homosexuality, as a birth defect.

Quite honestly, there may be many conditions beginning in utero, due to exposure there.
The first few lines show a dramatic misunderstanding of genetics. A gay gene, if it existed and I dont believe it does, would not quickly burn out if it was recessive. In fact if it existed it being recessive would be the most likely explanation for its existence. Not to mention a lot of homosexuals try and pretend to be straight, including having a wife and children. So yeah I dont wish to read this article when it starts with a breathtakingly bad statement.

The choice to be attracted toward the same sex or gender is based upon what is intellectually acceptable. Period!
The chemistry of attraction is based upon the masculine vs feminine aspect of the psyche or consciousness, irregardless of gender.
Even in same sex relationships, one partner is dominant masculine and one is dominant feminine. The problem is that opposites of dominant consciousness attract, not opposites of gender.
If it is not intellectually acceptable for a person who’s dominant aspect of consciousness is opposite their gender to enter a same sex relationship, they will merely find a person of the opposite gender who has also shifted and enter a relationship with them.
Thus a straight feminine man will enter a relationship with a masculine female. It’s been this way forever.
The Rosie the Riveters or dominant females tend to develop more masculine psyches. In a single parent household the child often develops a co-dependency with the single parent and then develops as the compliment of the strong parent personality rather than developing their own pre-disposition. I’ve even noticed delayed puberty in children in these situations.
I work with many gays and lesbians to help them resolve psychological issues. I’ve even presented to gay and lesbian groups. I explain to them what causes the “chemistry” and even demonstrate why in front of the group. I do not judge them, but help them to understand themselves.
Body chemistry is a function of the epigenetic influence of consciousness. This is also why placebos work.
Everything I have stated is easy to demonstrate in a controlled scientific setting. It really is much simpler than people make it out to be.
Unfortunately, the idiot doesn’t know what he’s talking about. It is VERY possible for a gene that causes an inability to have offspring to perpetuate itself. Hence, inherited diseases. First and most simply, most genes are variably expressed. That is, they have a greater or lesser effect due to other conditions and combinations with other genes.
Genes may also prevent reproduction when homozygous (both sets of sets of DNA contain the certain gene), but be beneficial when heterozygous (only one set of DNA has the gene). The beneficial condition may only occur sporadically; for instance the gene that causes sickle-cell anemia when homozygous helps prevent malaria when heterozygous.
The genes may also help relatives who share the gene but do not express it survive.
The simplest way to demonstrate that homosexuality has no genetic cause is the simple fact that it does not run in families. In a purely genetic trait, a homosexual’s brother would be 50% likely to be homosexual, and an identical twin brother would be certain to be homosexual. Instead, we see only slightly elevated rates of homosexuality among the siblings of homosexuals, in a pattern more suggestive of environmental factors, or at least environmental triggers.
Most homosexuals are not born that way. They just get sucked into it.
