Arpaio: Charge four with neglect in 21 dog deaths (includes Senator Flake's son)

PHOENIX (AP) — The four people responsible for 21 dogs who died at a Gilbert kennel three months ago should face felony charges for cruel animal neglect, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Tuesday.

Arpaio said his office forwarded its investigation into the June 20 deaths at Green Acres Boarding Kennel to prosecutors for review.

That's what the story states so I can't change it. I think some but not all the dogs were in that room. If I remember, Sheriff Joe sent a volunteer posse to look for one of them. Unfortunately they found the dog passed away.

Dogs are either chattel or precious beings. If they are chattel, these guys walk. But if they are precious beings, there are a lot of cops guilty of murdering dogs.

It depends upon the state. If a pet is treated like an object, many of them have no value, and are treated in the courts as if they are so much garbage.

Of course, this is wrong.

However, once animals are not property, the entire basis of Western society and law are undermined.
