DeNice was a little crabby in my opinion.

How about DeNephew?

Yep! I also went to flight school, and the student pilots there were from all over the world. The ones from the African continent, Trinidad, and other nations with a majority black society thought the blacks in this country were fools. They had no time for them whatsoever.

I also worked at a big corporation in Stamford CT. There was a very stressful meeting one day which had to do with some very bad financial disclosures and going forward. The end of the meeting was very ugly. A black procurement staffer mentioned to my boss(who was also black) that "we brothers need to watch out for each other". My boss went ballitstic, and another meeting was held with senior management and that was the last we saw of the "Brother".

That is hilarious. Obamaniqua is my personal favorite.

I work with a "Clintonia".

At the elementary school my kids attend, one of the fifth-grade teachers is a black man with the first name of Christian.

There were several Danish kings named Christian, and I believe it is still a popular first name in Denmark.

Frank Zappa’s “You Are What You Is” comes to mind.

FWIW, I doubt very seriously that Ms. Ghatt was developing “online web content” since 1991!

We were very early on the Internet at state government, but that was 1994.

Presently working in the Texas oilfields, and one thing I’ve noticed is that NONE of the black guys have these “madeup” names.

It’s Bobby, Tommy, Todd, Randall, Cody, Steve, etc.

I don’t remember those strange names in the military, either.

The first real web browser, Mosaic, wasn’t released until 1993.

I have always thought that the newly-delivered mother must have looked out the window for inspiration, like reading what was written on the side of a delivery truck and deciding what a cool name it would be for the baby.

It seems so long as there’s a Qu- in there somewhere, -sha or -ee- and it ends in an “a”, it’s OK. They don’t seem to have any correlation to actual “African” names coming from Africa.

I read unintended Consequences that had what I think is more likely the reason for stupid names.

"there are overworked interns on rotation in ghetto hospitals that did what they could to entertain themselves amid 20-hour days in depressing surroundings. one of the standard gambits was to see who could cause the most outrageous name to be printed on the birth certificate of children born to ghetto teenagers. "

The girl in the book known as G.G. was Gonorrhea Gaily.

I always think of this reason for those unpronoucable names and misspellings.
