I understand your thinking, and yes, there are certainly “optics.” However, as Bishop of Rome, he must shepherd Romans. Romans, like much of the rest of western Europe, have forgone marriage. Fortunately, these people, for whom the Pope presided, have seen the value of the sacrament, and are seeking to live in it, regardless of their pasts.

What shepherd doesn’t leave his 99 behind?

Interesting, post 27 really did upset you.

Pelosi and Biden taking Communion at the Vatican, the Kennedys, and the majority of the major Catholic politicians in America, and the majority of Catholic voters, all have shining examples of who their church honors and glorifies, no wonder the Catholic vote goes pro-abortion democrat.

I usually converse with people who answer questions addressed to them. It facilitates discussion.

I asked a few and you can’t answer. It’s not a conversation at that point but just another rant.

I’m not looking for chat buddies who want to start learning about each other and sharing long conversations. especially when they are posting something irrelevant to my post.

Post 27 nailed it as a simple statement of fact, and it terribly upset you, and you have been going on about it ever since, yet trying to avoid it’s facts.

No wonder Catholics vote for abortion and liberalism.

The problem with this article and line of thought is that using private revelation as an authority is a mistake because none of the private prophesies about the End Times need ever be fulfilled as they are contingent realities, and they are not to be accepted with Catholic Faith.

To many Catholics private interpretation of private revelations is substituted for the Sacred Deposit of Faith, whereas it more closely resembles the occult practice of divination.

“To LaSalette Blog: Bite me! “

that is the Irish Central newspaper saying that ... the blog is being critical of Francis and critical of the newspaper.

“even being blessed by his Pope in a letter.”

that is nonsense. It was a lie to deceive people that TED received a letter from the Pope. He most definitely did not.

“You object to funerals? “

EMK was a PUBLIC sinner and a particularly scandalous one. PUBLIC sinners cannot have Catholic funerals unless certain conditions are met. PUBLIC sinners need to make a PUBLIC repentance. Justice demands it. Otherwise, it brings scandal and harm to the entire body of Christ and our Blessed Lord’s religion.

If EMK were given a private funeral, it would be an internal matter, and even if wrong, it would be largely none of my business.

But EMK was given what amounted to a STATE FUNERAL by the fools in Boston, TELEVISED. With a eulogy by BHO.

“According to the Order of Christian Funerals, there is never to be a eulogy at a funeral Mass (OCF 27)”

The fact that BHO was even allowed on the altar is outrageous. He should have been give a seat in a pew and told to stay there.

This entire event was a public scandal and justice demands a public apology. Don’t hold your breath waiting for it.

this amounts to a form letter from a Vatican bureaucrat. Not even a word from the Pope. You could call it a diss.

McCarrick, by reading it and deceptively implying that the pope replied ... disgraceful.

“McCarrick said a reply from the Vatican came two weeks later. He read excerpts aloud.

The Holy Father has read the letter which you entrusted to President Obama, who kindly presented it to him during their recent meeting. He was saddened to know of your illness, and asked me to assure you of his concern and his spirtual closeness. He is particularly grateful for your promise of prayers for him and for the needs of our universal church.

His Holiness prays that in the days ahead you may be sustained in faith and hope, and granted the precious grace of joyful surrender to the will of God, our merciful father. He invokes upon you the consolation and peace promised by the risen savior to all who share in his sufferings and trust in his promise of eternal life.

Commending you and the members of your family to the loving intervention of the blessed Virgin Mary, the Holy Father cordially imparts his Apostolic blessing as a pledge of wisdom, comfort and strength in the Lord. “

“Here in Rome, Ted Kennedy is nobody. He’s a legend with his own constituency,” says the Vatican official.

One veteran official at the Vatican, of U.S. nationality, expressed the view of many conservatives about the Kennedy clan’s rapport with the Catholic Church: “Why would he even write a letter to the Pope? The Kennedys have always been defiantly in opposition to the Roman Catholic magisterium.”

The renowned and trusted EWTN broadcaster clearly laid the responsibility of this corrupting example not so much with Kennedy as with the prelates who orchestrated the showcase funeral. Said Arroyo: “As a final desperate attempt to stamp the imprimatur of the Pope upon the funereal proceedings, Cardinal McCarrick read what he called the ‘Pope’s response’ to Senator Kennedy. Actually it was a note, very likely from the Secretariat of State. This is the sort of thing any member of laity receives when they send a prayer request or a Christmas card to the Pope. Cardinal McCarrick made it seem as if it had the weight of a new encyclical.”

Send a note this Dec with a Christmas card and, you too, can get an historic note from the pope himself!

I can’t imagine he’d have performed the marriage ceremony unless they’d confessed, and had extensive pre-Cana counseling.

In all the news coverage of the event, that was left completely ambiguous.

The Popes have always been there for Ted, from his first Communion by Pope Pius XII at age 7, to Pope Benedict XVI blessing him on his death bed in a letter in 2009, but he had to settle for a Cardinal to perform his first marriage and a Cardinal for his funeral.

It was a blessing from his Pope, who personally read Ted’s letter, and his Pope responded to him and blessed him.

“”The Holy Father has read the letter in which you””

“”He invokes upon you the consolation and peace of our risen savior, to all who share in his sufferings and trust in his promise of eternal life, commending you and the members of your family to the loving intervention of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The Holy Father cordially imparts his apostolic blessing as a pledge of wisdom, comfort and strength in the Lord.””

It depends on whether Popes are allowed to leave the Papacy by means other than death.

And further, if they are (through resignation, as Benedict did) must it have been freely and willingly and not coerced.

There’s been some disagreement over whether a Pope can actually resign, plus speculation that Benedict was coerced/blackmailed into resigning.

Both scenarios present the possibility that Francis’ election was invalid. Making him an anti-Pope, which would fulfill that portion of the prophesy.

“first Communion by Pope Pius XII at age 7”
If ever there was a 7 year-old that should have been denied communion, it was little Teddy.

“The Popes have always been there for Ted”

Christ Himself, has always been there for Ted.
For some, all His sufferings were in vain.

“a Cardinal for his funeral”
Warn all to avoid these corrupt clerics.

” his apostolic blessing “
I prefer to receive apostolic blessings in person, rather than through a form letter. But perhaps that bureaucrat should be fired.

The facts don't change, communion from Pope Pius XII at age 7 for Ted, the Popes have always been there for Ted, a Cardinal for his funeral and a blessing from the Pope after the Pope read his personal letter.

You aren't American Catholic royalty so you will never be treated like a Kennedy.

Long time ago, one of the very first “humorous” things that we came up with while hanging out at recess was to say, “Cardinal Cushing married JFK!” That would crack us up.
