The elephant in the living room is the massive universal usage of steroids. I understand from insiders that it is 100 % on the offensive line. 100%. On every team. anyone doubt that?

Why, all of a sudden, are these coming out NOW?

I have been asking that same question.

Back when Richard Nixon was president, a star pass receiver from an NFL team located in one of the Southern states was arrested for exposing himself to a 10-yer-old girl. Earlier, he had been caught doing something similar, at a playground, when he was with an NFL team in one of the Great Lakes states. But he essentially beat the rap in both cases, getting probation. And although he was quickly traded (to my favorite team, I am sorry to say), his career continued--and the media responded with a collective ho-hum.

Football as we have always loved it is already gone. It may be gone completely within the next 25 or so years.

There was something very unsettling about all of the teams donning pink for breast cancer awareness last year.

Can't we just enjoy the game any longer, without someone's agenda getting adopted by the league? Cancer is horrible, yes, I know. But making it front and center when we just want to get back to something we know and love? Cruel.

Where's the prostate cancer awareness push, which might be more appropriate for this particular game? (crickets)

NFL sort of ‘caved’ with the Pink thing....

They must have felt the ‘heat’ from all the attention NBA was getting for their ‘washed up’, overated sodomite.

Wonder what kind of compensation the Cards and Cowboys got or are going to get for taking a ‘flyer’ on Sam?

Remember earlier this year when the NFL ‘banned’ the “N” word from being said on NFL ‘property’ the Blacks immediately jumped up and claimed they were being discriminated against with the most outlandish line being.
NONE OF THE WHITES use the word so you are just passing this rule because WE use it.

This BS is so convoluted it is easy to figure out.

Bad part is one must look for the s/s after reading some of this laughable garbage....

Didn’t take long for the NFL to grovel at the feet of PC AND hire 3 or 4 women to run the ‘department’ that will handle all this trash.

Started with Joe Namath wearing panty hose, and has progressed to one of the Defensive Linemen of Joes day making the statement.
‘Since we can’t hit THEM anymore, why not put skirts on them so we can really tell them apart’ or some such line...

The answer is that the NFL is the very definition of American capitalism, American hard work, American merit, and American freedom.

Not anymore. Crony capitalism, thanks to taxpayer subsidized stadia. Freedom? Hardly, it's a cartel, just like OPEC.

IMHO, the American wine industry is one of the last bastions of capitalism. If you put out a crappy product, no one will buy your goods.

On Hugh Hewitt today, they were wondering why the NFL felt it had to provide a parallel court system. Do they have laws based on the Constitution? What about double jeopardy? What about just letting the legal system take its course.

NFL sanctions on an NFL player have nothing to do with the legal process. It's an issue between the employer and employee.

If I own a plumbing business and I find that one of my employees beat up his wife or GF, he's fired!

“Ask yourself why the NFL is being targeted. The answer is that the NFL is the very definition of American capitalism, American hard work, American merit, and American freedom.”

The NFL is run by the ultra-rich who have rigged the system by making it a non-profit organization and using strong-arm tactics to get special bills through the US Congress to protect them. Not only that but the ‘employees’ receive special treatment from law enforcement.

Yeah, I think the left hates football for a lot of the obvious reasons. I also think there are a lot of positives about football.

But the NFL has done a lot on its own that made its product unpalatable to folks that still dig some semblance of sportsmanship in sports entertainment. I’m talking on field stuff, the actual product. I don’t know what the solution would be considering how much money is made and how popular it is, but when the cool players are unwilling or unable to police the jerkwads, they lost me. Obviously I am in the minority, it only became more popular after that. I like it when they help each other up after plays. I can’t stand it when they break out the celebratory posturing garbage with impunity. There should be some mechanism of self policing beyond the lame excessive celebration rule suitable for 2nd graders.

I don’t follow football so was unaware of this incident.

I can’t stop laughing-——it’s pure insanity.

Crony capitalism

Agreed. It is a blasted monopoly. But that is not why the Left is attacking it.

Indeed, football is something uniquely American. Very few foreigners understand it. Being able to understand the game and to “talk football” is one of the things that sets Americans off from the rest of the world’s inhabitants. That is probably the main reason why liberals hate it.

“Keep in mind that Goodell has pretty much given the Left wanted. It’s never enough with these people.”

Duh! Why should the left stop doing what they’re doing if they’re getting results? What happens when you give in to a bully or to a blackmailer? Why would they stop? It is precisely Goodell’s fault of giving them what they want that they are smelling blood. And why would I want to protect a league that’s giving the Left what they want? So that I continue to hear Costa’s anti-gun rants and other leftist crap that has nothing with football? No thank you. The NFL has made its bed and they can sleep in it. I was done with the NFL for a while.

From everything I have read or heard, Demarcus Ware is one of the good ones. He attended Troy and married Shaniqua who was his tutor. They have adopted several kids and have stayed out of trouble.

Here's how to bring up the media short. Goodell is in trouble because the video revealed the horror that he was supposed to know about all along. He knew and "did nothing" therefore he is very bad and must resign.

Well, we learned from the expert on Greta tonight that Øbama was told for more than a year about ISIS/ISIL in his Presidential Daily Briefings – you know, the ones he didn't need delivered verbally because he was such a good reader? – and furthermore, lizard tongue Kerry told the Senate hearing that we've been tracking ISIS/ISIL from their inception. OK, so why the sudden rush to "manage" or destroy ISIS/ISIL, was it because of a beheading video that suddenly revealed the horror??? Øbama knew and did nothing. Well, using the Goodell rule, Øbama is very bad and must resign.

Mainstream that comparison and the media will STFU in a heartbeat.

Funny to hear Dick Morris on Philly talk radio this afternoon all in a dither about the NFL and how they haven’t punished all those nasty footballers enough for being so abusive and disrespectful - this from the guy who helped give us and propped up Bill Clinton, the guy who masturbated a young woman less than half his age with a cigar in the Oval Office and very probably raped a couple of other women along the way - fraudulent outrage up and down the line.....

The commie lib ‘RATS coming up for reelection on November 4th would prefer that the talk around the “water cooler” is about football players than the crimes they’ve been committing against the American people.

I think your article is largely correct. But, I also think the NFL is the NFL’s biggest enemy and needs no help from The Left.

I am as far from The Left as you can get on the political spectrum. Indeed I’m hanging on the opposite end of that spectrum by my fingernails. But, I don’t give a damn what the left thinks about the NFL. They don’t influence me AT ALL. I do know that for what ever the reason I, and millions like me, quit watching and going a couple decades back. To me, it’s that simple.

Moreover, if anything, lawyers are going to kill the NFL. The NFL farm teams are thousands of Pop Warner leagues and Jr high and High School. Many of those leagues and schools are shutting down due to lawsuits or the threat of lawsuits. Lawsuits mean no insurance. No Jr. HIgh and high school football means no NFL. The one good thing is that Jerry Jones will get his!
