while i need to do more research, I am hearing that charter schools are not all as they appear. They have drifted from their original mission and are mutating into unaccountable failure mills in their own right. Some schools are doing the right thing, but there is some weird thing going on where corporations are over-reaching in a search for profits while sacrificing the quality of their work.

Some do fail at their job which is why we impose oversight on them. Michigan has closed a few of them for failure to produce results. Its a lot easier to close a charter school than it is to close a public school taxpayer black hole.
