He probably didn’t have insurance. They didn’t want to fund his care so they didn’t really look into his condition. Just determined it wasn’t life threatening and send home. They do it every day. Hospitals go broke paying for people’s care.

Having worked around the people who work in the Emergency Departments in this country I can assure you that the front line people who are taking care of you do not care if you have insurance. It is not on their radar, and they don’t care.

The folks in the front office might care. The nurses doing triage and the ER docs have no idea about your insurance. They could not care less.
