Has he been taking any prescription (or OTC) medications prior to this? Certain ones have a rare side-effect called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, though other things can cause it:

I considered that as well, but his skin is only peeling around his nose, mouth, and eyes and not severely.

About 3 weeks ago, he did have strep and was on antibiotics for that. He couldn’t tolerate the first one they prescribed so they had him on a Z Pack.

At first my daughter thought he had a recurrence of strep, but the tests were negative for that.

I will mention this to her, but, once again, nothing seems to fit his symptoms exactly.

Thanks to everyone for their responses. Keep them coming; I’m considering all of them as possibilities.
