Yes, Firestone did shut the epidemic down as far as it touched them. Rather than post links, there are some good articles if you google firestone rubber ebola.

I thought chocolate also came from S. America. I know that is not to be confused with cocaine.

Cacao trees originated in the Americas but the bulk of chocolate production comes from the ebola zone of western Africa, Ivory Coast in particular
