I'll take a stab. For the RATS, the ends justify the means. They need to energize their base. This would do that.

And they also run their playbook over and over and this worked out to be a good thing for BJ ... a resume enhancer for a democRAT

It would allow him to play the Victim Card ("because I stood up for the little people, the poor and the oppressed, I was impeached").

Don't underestimate the power of that. The Victim Card plus the Race Card...that's a powerful combination. And remember, it takes 2/3 to convict in the Senate. So even though Obama could be impeached by the House, he wouldn't be removed from office.
