First, the Republican controlled Senate should immediately reinstate the filibuster for all judicial appointments. Any 40 Senators should be able to block any of Obama’s far left wing judicial nominees. Without the filibuster, it will only take a half dozen RINOs to join with the Democrats for confirmation.
Reid unilaterally took away the filibuster for Presidential appointments. McConnell should unilaterally reinstate it. I can think of no conceivable reason for McConnell not to do this.
Second, the Republican controlled Senate should either abolish the legislative filibuster or at a minimum make the Democrats do a good old fashioned “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” talk-until-you-drop style filibuster if they want to block any legislation passed by the House.
Will the Democrats and the Democrat controlled Fly By Media scream bloody murder? Of course they will. Who gives a crap?
The only reason that will be given for not doing this is that it will come back to bite the Republicans whenever the Democrats regain control. That was the same reason given for not using the “nuclear option” to stop Democrats from filibustering all of Bush’s judicial appointments. Clearly, the Democrats will do whatever they want whenever they are in control of the Senate. It is long past time for the Republicans to do the same thing.
Has anyone asked him?
