I picked the Nazis for a comparison only because I’d recently read Garden of Beasts, and saw some parallels. But every takeover by a tyranny (not during a war or a period of open revolution) follows some similar bureaucratic steps and patterns. Those steps and patterns are very clearly being carried out today by Team Obama.

I think you made the case well. The NAZI comparison doesn't bother me. I don't believe in Godwin's Law. As long as the analogy is reasonable, and it is here, then it's perfectly valid.

I also agree with your comment that it's not going to be so easy to take Americans down that road. Maybe it's the case of 500 rds of 00buck for a great price that was dropped on my doorstep today that has me feeling that way. ;-)
