I know the feeling. This morning I decided that deep down I’m a penguin. As I stand here in my tuxedo, I am thinking penguiny thoughts. This may be confusing at first, since I will look (and sound) like a person in the beginning of the process, but I will also be using neutral pronouns and going by a name from Mr. Popper’s Penguins - “Captain Cook”.
I want everyone to know up front that I will not hold it against you nor be insulted or hurt if you slip and use the wrong pronouns, or forget to call me “Captain” by mistake — it happens! I’m done posting for now; I’m going to waddle around hoping someone will think I’m cute and toss a raw fish in my mouth.
My belief is just as reasonable as Dave’s. Plus it’s more likely to produce a positive result (free fish!).
