The number of these fake stories I can recall off the top of my head is astounding:

Tawana Brawley
Duke Lacrosse
Fake “Raped By Republican” by some HBO star
The “left a noose on my door” fake
Etc.

You would think they would stick to actual journalism over ideology just because their lawyers make them.

But the WaPo quotes from her friends on campus do not confirm that they met; on the contrary, the friends told the WaPo that the name she gave doesn't fit what she said about the guy previously. One campus advocate is now using the word "misled" to describe her initial conversations with Jackie.
