They’ve been doing that with pizza since forever.
And Chinese food, in some places.
When technology advanced enough to bring me pizza or wings, I called it good enough.
It gets a little “better”.. and someone orders.. candy?
I just ordered some choc for my DH, which we cannot get anywhere near this region. I hope Amazon doesn’t melt it like some people complained, but at least it is winter. I definitely did not see about very-short delivery, but I don’t think I’d want to spend more than the $20 they wanted for 2-day ship.
There’s a place downtown whose best time to bring me a steak hoagie [double meat, provolone] is nine minutes. They also deliver beer—at carryout price!
We can’t get pizza delivered to the boonies.
I believe it’s $30/yr to join Amazon Prime. Gotta add that to the expense sheet.
$99 a year, actually.
“Gimme, gimme, gimme...”
Although I usually don’t apply for any new credit cards... I did get Amazon’s Chase card... as you get credit earned for purchases. I use Amazon very regularly, and have a prime membership... which with the credit card pays for itself three times over through out the year. Plus using prime, means many things get there the next day just because they’re in the local warehouse! Such a time and gas saver!
One of the ‘advantages’ of living in ‘Metropolis’ I guess.
My last three Amazon orders took 18-20 days to arrive. Stuff from China purchased on eBay on the same day got here quicker.
There ya go.
Amazon billed me for the charge last yr. I threw a hissy and they cancelled my membership.
I order stuff from Amazon but not enough to come close to breaking even for the benefits of Prime.
When it’s beer delivered by a 10-foot robot shooting laser beams from its eyes, I’m in.

That's ridiculous.
Obama hates rural people. That's why he had the FAA make the drone regulations so onerous. You were on the verge of drone delivered pizza and Baraq shot it down.
They now collect Maryland sales taxes from us.
When you order from Amazon, you have to be aware of 3rd party sellers. Those items are not in Amazon warehouses and the sellers ship the items themselves and usually take much longer to arrive.
“candy?”
Maybe that’s just hipster code words for a beer and a pizza?
Domino’s doesn’t offer possum and raccoon as toppings anyway! :-)
