Especially "journalism."

Scratch that, "Child Psychology."

OK, scratch that. "International Relations."

we were on a journey to the wiles of Northern Vermont.

I would recommend the "wilds" instead. They're much more scenic. And the "wiles" can be a little tricky.

You’re missing these are the type of women who preach about racial and gender equality. Until it comes to them getting their hands dirty.

They look like “Missionaries” to me... we have groups like this ALL OVER the world. Often, with very lax security.

My grandfather had this coming of age requirement, no matter who you were you would be able to change tires, do oil changes, tuneups, and have a good handle on gun safety. Seemed strange at the time, but I’m grateful he did this :)

Wiles were more on my mind being young, slip of the tongue.

That is one of the nice things about stopping, especially for people in junker cars, and hitchhikers that look a little less than at their best, hopefully you can help them but at least you can often cheer them up and remind them that they are not invisible, or too far separated from the society at large.

That said I think they are conservatives because I have never seen a good looking liberal.

Maybe over 30, but there are plenty under 30. When I was a college freshman, I liked dating liberal girls because I could get away with more. But it didn't take me long to discover that the attitude that went along with it just wasn't worth it.

Thank goodness, I soon discovered my limits and stopped even going there. I was a little freer with my hands and mouth than I should've been, but did manage to keep the snake in the cage until I found a good conservative girl worth marrying.

Young men: don't get mixed up with liberal women even for a date. I had friends who did and almost all of them ended up in lousy marriages, including one who was a suicide. Sad.

Liberalism really is a mental disorder.

I can’t change a tire but I can cook, clean, hang wallpaper, put the guts in a toilet, paint, and I do it too.

liberals are good looking when they are younger but as they age they get more and more biter and you tend to mirror your inner self.

I haven’t had to do it in a while but I think I could do it if I had to. Easier to call roadside assistance if available. The lazy way out.

My Dad taught me to change a tire when I was learning to drive (also how to check the oil, the radiator and change out a battery). I had to change a tire a week for several months on various vehicles. He wasn’t so much for feminism as wanting me to be able to take care of myself in as many different situations as possible for my own safety. He would have rathered I call him but realized he wasn’t always going to be around.

Mrs. Capt. Norm (the "admiral") changes tires...even changed out the timing belt on her car...nobody else dare touch it.

When my mother applied for her Michigan driver’s license in 1924, the test had only one part. The sheriff had her demonstrate how to change a flat tire. Four years later she drove from Michigan to Florida and back by herself over Christmas vacation. Eight days of driving.

My daughters were on the road with two other female friends and popped a tire. GEICO road service was going to take too long to arrive. Since all four girls knew how to change tires, they were getting started when a young man pulled over and did it for them.

"When I took drivers ed we we taught how to change a tire. Each student in the class was made to change a tire before getting the little card that said we were entitled to drive. Maybe that should be restored."

I made my boys rotate the tires on the car and change the oil before they were allowed to drive.

Just seems like common sense to me.
