You realize, don’t you, that a quarter was a small fortune in the 1930s to most Americans. :-)
My mother said she would save all the pennies she got, from either returning bottles or getting a penny from her mom to buy candy, which she said she didn’t but put it aside for the pool.
Said it took about a month or so to get the money.
She said the pool was all done in pink marble. The floors and the room also in pink marble. She said it was very beautiful and she felt wonderful when she went there.
Only once a man came down and swam in the pool. He was actually a resident of the hotel. She said she was very annoyed at him for being there, lol.
He left her alone and she left him alone.
