not sure where he gets that from but he does

but if your phrase about controlling the process was referring to what amendments come out of a convention, my answer is who cares what comes out - outlaw gravity if they want - the states must ratify it and that won't happen

Then, you need to do a lot more research before jumping on those who disagree with your opinion.

A regular constitutional convention is open to all issues the delegates want to bring.

An Article V Convention is supposedly limited to a pre-agreed upon list of amendments that 2/3 (?) of the state legislatures have approved.

The problem is that an 'article V' type meeting of a convention to improve the Articles of Confederation resulted in it being tossed out in favor of a completely new constitution. Can such happen at a new Article 5 Convention? No one really knows, because there has never been an Article 5 Convention under the current US Constitution. Many of us think it is a can of worms that could result in massive 'unintended consequences'.
