Obama wants to change the tax code to punish families with a stay-at-home parent

Obama wants to change the tax code to punish families with a stay-at-home parent

The Hill recently reported:

… the president is proposing a new $500 second-earner credit to help cover the additional costs, such as commuting, of families with two working spouses. That plan is expected to benefit 24 million couples, the White House said.

Another proposal would streamline and expand childcare tax benefits, providing up to $3,000 per child under age 5, helping 5.1 million families that make up to $210,000 a year and cover costs for 6.7 million children.

A real tax cut means that marginal tax rates are cut, and people can spend that money however they want.

But that’s not what Obama wants.

Instead, Obama wants to use the tax code to reward people who put their children into day care, and to punish families with a stay-at-home parent.

If you want this tax cut, you will have to behave in the specific way that Obama wants you to behave.

If your lifestyle is different than the way that Obama wants you to live, then you will not get a tax cut.

My title is a lot more accurate than the title from the original article, which is another reason for making the blog post and posting it here.

You could have posted it in News if you had omitted your blog’s involvement.

Wider exposure.

Funny thing, when I looked at the post, I thought "Good, he posted the whole thing, there shouldn't be any blogpimp bitching from humblegunner." Then I scroll down and find you bitching about the fact that he did.

First you bitch when bloggers excerpt their blogs, now you are going to bitch when they do? You need a new hobby.

Then I scroll down and find you bitching about the fact that he did.

Not exactly. I don't see any criticism of his posting the full content.

Fact is he openly admits where he got the story. ("Got" meaning "stole".)

I question his blog's role in this.. which is none.

If you wish to honor theft, that is your business.

Obama knows this won't pass. It's all about changing the subject so the feckless Republicans won't get around to passing anything Obama would have to veto.

They are going to at least pass Keystone and Iran Sanctions no doubt about it. Votes are in the bag.

I think what this is more about is going ahead with a string of proposals in advance of tax season; Obamacare regs for taxes are going to be VERY unpopular.

What about the no working print families? It’s not fair that a non working non taxpaying welfare queen won’t get this “credit”
