If you look at WWI, religion was really not a part of that war (other than each side thinking they had God on their side), but pure vanity on all sides. Yet one battle, such as Paschendale saw the loss of 280,000 allies and 300,000 Germans. What a waste. The idea that religion is the sole cause, or major cause of death and war doesn't stand scrutiny.
