So are you saying Stanley Ann lived in that wee bungalow with her parents for the entire length of her pregnancy? If not, where was Stanley Ann during those nine months?

Also, not trying to be difficult, but I have never seen any evidence anywhere that Stanley Ann brought her baby home from the hospital to 6085 Kalanianaole Highway. Is this merely Obama-friendly guesswork, or is there a ‘fact’ somewhere that supports it?

That's neither here nor there. What's significant is that she split and turned up with a three-week-old baby to attend the U of Washington, leaving BHO, Sr. to complete his studies at the U of Hawaii. She must have wanted to get away from him, since she did not return to Hawaii until after he'd left for Harvard. There is little evidence they actually ever lived together as a married couple.

Apparently, Stanley Ann's parents were renting 6085 Kalanianaole Highway (the whole house, not just the bungalow) from the Lefforges, who bought the place in 1958 but didn't move in themselves until 1963. This is according to the Polk Directory, which listed Stanley A. Dunham as a manager at Pratt Furniture and Madelyn Dunham as a loan officer and escrow agent. It separately listed a student named Ann S. Obama at the Kalanianaole address, although it showed BHO, Sr., at 625 11th Avenue.

Whether Stanley Ann also lived there or simply floated in and out between there and where her new husband lived is unknown.

In any case, it's no surprise that the address appeared in the birth announcement. It's common for college kids without much of a fixed address to use their parents' address, whether or not they spend most nights there.
