I live in this county. The system has a ratio of five students per employee! There are 7500 students and 1500 total employees, 1150 or so who are certified to teach.

Assuming a typical class size of 25 students, that requires 300 teachers to cover the load.

WHAT THE HELL ARE THE OTHER 800 CERTIFIED EDUCATORS DOING?

Measured against other school systems in the area, we also have far more administrators per student. Losing a few would be great!

Yep, the school board should be sued by the teacher for this particular incident, and by me for an invasion of my property and privacy during a visit to the central office. I may do it yet.... I will not elaborate any further other than saying I have the evidence and plenty of time left on the statute of limitations! Of course I don’t matter because my kids attend private school and my family are just sheep to be sheared for their property taxes.

How did it get this way? By people not caring to vote. The majority of folks voting in the county elections are employees of local government.

Union Reps, Administrators, Admin support, substitutes, janitors/maintenance, school nurses, teachers aides, lunch ladies, sports coaches, counselors, librarians, music teachers, community outreach, PTA, etc.

Did I leave anything out?

About 25 years ago I saw an editorial cartoon with a one room school house in one panel saying "we need more funding". The next panel had the same one room school house with a ten story admin building behind it 30 years later saying saying "we need more funding".

Some of total number has to do with staff having to document compliance with state and federal regulations.
