Did you abstain from the 1st pair/bracket?

Yes. There were some where I didn’t know either song.

Just something interesting:

Ten top songs each month for 30 years

What memories/flashbacks with listening to some of these songs!!

Click on the speaker in the middle of the Record and it plays the entire song.

You now have 30 years of the Top 10 Songs for each month of the year from 1955 to 1985.

This is beyond incredible ... for the listener who can relive those wonderful music days of yesteryear... and for the artists and record companies ... that won't get a dime of royalties!

And we ask, "What happened to the music business that once was?" This may very well be part of the answer!

http://www.45rpmdb.com/Top10.html

Incidentally, you can not only hear the music, but you get to see the original label, in addition to getting a photo of the artist, biography and discography. All this with a nudge to your mouse!

Just 2 more days! Hope we can get some more votes. No direct update for now but we have some ties or really close ones to note (my husband still has to vote, so maybe that will make or break some ties).

Tied - Celebration/Lady; Everybody/I Want to Know What Love is

Within 1 vote - Centerfold/Total Eclipse; Down Under/Every Breath

I’m going to do that copy, paste, eliminate thing too. Here are my picks:

6 1980 “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” Queen

2 1980 “Another Brick in the Wall, Part II” Pink Floyd

6 1981 “Celebration” Kool & the Gang

7 1982 “Jack & Diane” John Cougar

6 1983 “Total Eclipse of the Heart” Bonnie Tyler

1 1983 “Every Breath You Take” The Police

6 1984 “Jump” Van Halen

2 1984 “What’s Love Got to Do with It” Tina Turner

7 1985 “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” Tears for Fears

5 1985 “I Feel For You” Chaka Khan

6 1986 “How Will I Know” Whitney Houston

2 1986 “Say You, Say Me” Lionel Richie

1 1988 “Faith” George Michael

2 1988 “Need You Tonight” INXS

4 1988 “Never Gonna Give You Up” Rick Astley

3 1989 “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” Poison

It’s been a pleasure to vote for many of these songs, which I love, and also a pleasure to vote against several that I hate. Hubby was the tie breaker where needed, sometimes going with the song I was leaning towards and sometimes against. But hubby knows his music stuff, so I’m happy to go with his choices.
