I heard a radio review that said Christians are stereotyped as villains in this movie.
Stereotyped is hardly sufficient. Christians are portrayed as evil anti-semitic, racist bigots, and don’t forget the homophobia. Gratuitous violence with a strong undercurrent of anti-Christian homosexual agenda would be more correct.
Yes, the ‘church’ was more a Westboro farce, but they were able to combine moral truths (pro life sentiments and condemnation of homosexuality) with bigotry. And the cute rear end was another not-so-subtle jab that even heterosexual men prefer sodomy to true sexual relations.
I went with few expectations, but the gratuitous ‘comic’ violence and the anti-religious themes detracted from what could have been a decent movie. The only thing keeping the movie from completing following the liberal meme was a villain who was ultimately an anti-human leftist.
Trying to please (or offend) all, my ultimate opinion was that Kingsman joins a long list of action-comedy movies that succeeded in neither category. I thought it would be Spy Kids for adults, but it turned out more like James Bond does Kill Bill.
