I have a daughter who was a server. She is definitely not a racist but has told me that MANY blacks are low or no tippers.
Yes that is true its called dinner profiling most wait staff ask the hostess dont put them in my section put them in the new persons section
little by little - they get the reparations back that they wanted for so long...every penny counts!
Back in the 1970s, McDonald’s actually targeted advertising to blacks telling them that dining was informal, no dress code and no tipping expected. I kid you not. You can look it up.
It’s a known fact. I’ve even heard blacks complain about tipping. Of course as a group they don’t get a lot of things.
Hear the same thing all the time - bad tippers if at all.
My daughter used to be a server too. She said that most black parties were loud, rude and disrespectful in addition to leaving little or no tip. She also said they usually make a bigger mess to clean up too.
I never asked them that question.
They both worked at Mimi's Cafe....a chain restaurant here in OK. I know my youngest served at a small 3 place breakfast/bunch place for many years...and liked it.
I will ask them the tip questions....Never occurred to me to ask before....
They are both off...on better careers!! Ha!!
I waited tables for about 5 years and what your daughter told you jibes 100% with my experience. Even the black servers I worked with hated waiting on blacks.
