Given that Rudy has gotten death threats, and likely from just the kind of blind-worship liberals like Chait here, it’s obvious that his column was written in order to provide a defense for any assassin who decides to take up the task, and, therefore, to encourage the act of assassination itself. And these are the tolerant souls who deplore violence.
What was it? Like others here said, it is the truth. These lost soul Americans, like this author, just can't handle the truth. The 100 years of the progressive statist movement has stolen many Americans souls when it comes to the value of freedom and the Constitution that protects them and our freedoms.
