Revolution is not supposed to be easy. Otherwise, the weak would do it daily, like they are trying to do now. Only those with enough guts and/or belief in something greater than themselves SHOULD revolt. Unfortunately, the point of the spear usually ends up destroyed, but it allows the shaft to do its work.

Yes, most people have to borrow to buy a home. But many have paid off their mortgages. Yes, many people have to borrow to buy a car. But many have paid them off or paid cash for cheaper transportation they drive till thedoors fall off. Some people charge up to their ears and struggle to stay afloat, but others defer the goodies until and unless they can pay for them.

If we’re slaves, we’re the best-paid slaves in all of human history.

Young people have learned that lesson well; they have no children, mortgages, and increasingly, no student loans. That is why our schools are trafficking students here (more than the many they trafficked 20+ years ago when I was in school). It has been a rough learning curve, but a lot of young people are seeing how dim their economic future is, and adjusting their behavior accordingly.

In the 1970s a Soviet pilot defected by flying his MiG to Japan; as he became acclimated to living in the US, somebody explained debt slavery to him. He said Russians would much prefer that to what they had instead - debt-free with nothing.
