In 2012, my students had a Hoods Up For Trayvon Martin day, Did they get high on "purple drank" and attempt to kill strangers?
No?
Not much of a "Trayvon Martin Day" then ...

Racism remains an EXCUSE to not get an education and a real job -— and be a law-abiding, respectable AMERICAN.
Thank You Obama, Holder, Sharpton and Jackson.

That day I abandoned the lesson plan, got my badge maker out and we spent the day making protest art. We made badges from Arizona labels, Skittles wrappers and pictures of Trayvon.
Hey, I could do that.

No wonder “Brit in the Bronx” uses a pseud. Who would publish this under their real name?
Oh and if she reads this: please Brit in the Bronx, learn to tip 20 -25%.

A teacher describes how the death Trayvon Martin made ger scrap her lesson plan and work on something more relevant with students.

This so-called “educator” is a nut case. She should be fired for child abuse.

Your students didn’t fight jack sh_t. But I’ll bet they all got an easy A for this waste-of-time feel-good “project” that looks like it was assembled by first graders who ran out of finger paints.

I agree...she abandoned her lesson plan for this nonsense.
“Protest art” is a skill in much demand by employers these days./S

If I were an insensitive racist I would suggest that the Trayvon “art” could be used for target practice.
