The “independent voters” become very important every time a Republican looks strong in the Presidential contest.

an independent run by a republican garantees that we get president clinton or president warren. It’s a ridiculous, treacherous idea, and the only current republican candidate that is self absorbed enough to even think about it is nutty rand paul.

and the dumb ass millennials don’t vote unless something bright and shiny (and deceiving) is running.

The Jeb zombies will be out complaining that the smart GOP finds a great candidate that appeals to independents and then, dangnabbit, those conservative purists ruin it by staying home by the MILLIONS.

Unfortunately, lots of people have the “conviction” that they want to keep getting welfare, social security disability, food stamps, section 8, worker’s comp. and whatever else they can get their hands on.

It's easier to gripe about principled voters than to do the hard work of actually becoming conservative.

Whiny liberal republicans will always be with us, and on this board, we know who they are.

The ones that vote (R) no matter how liberal the politician. As long as he's got an (R) by his name.

Cruz is distinct from many of the other candidates in his party in that he has been more outspoken and more extreme in his conservatism than other candidates.

Anthea, it would be interesting to hear you babble when you tried to define the word. Oh, wait, no it wouldn't.

More and more Independents are conservatives.

That's because more and more conservatives are Independents. It's been happening for a long, long time.

This must be that new species of conservative who believes in corporate welfare we've been hearing about.
