When I go on road trips with the family, and we pull off the highway for a food stop, I often go in first to check out the place. If it's got predominantly black staff and customers, I turn around, get in the car, and go down the highway a bit further.
Tell you a story....I was driving back home from work one night. Truck Tranny went out...North Tulsa. Pulled into a McDonalds...went in asked four black older guy's if they knew of a Auto Parts store near. One said he did...and he took me there..I bot some Tranny fluid and something I thought might fix it..He was a very nice guy...and did not need to help me.
Turned out...tranny was toast. Called a buddy from work...He came and got me..and I slept in the hospital that night.
So....I hate to be that way. But I'm aware of what is going on around me...and have my head on a swivel.
Be professional, be polite..but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
