A Passover sign from God?
The Times of Israel ^ | 4/2/2015 | Simcha Jacobovici

Posted on 04/02/2015 6:21:58 PM PDT by Former Fetus

A fully red cow on a small farm outside Lakewood, New Jersey is attracting worldwide attention in orthodox Jewish circles and various movements with a Messianic or “End of Days” bent. Let me explain why.

In the Biblical Book of Numbers (19:2-13) it stipulates that the only way to purify oneself after contact with the dead is to be sprinkled with water that is a mixture of hyssop, cedar-wood, scarlet and the ashes of a red heifer or cow – in Hebrew, “Parah Adumah” – sacrificed on the altar of the Holy Tabernacle. Put differently, according to Biblical law, to overcome the impurity of death, one needs a kosher red heifer for a sacrifice in the Temple. For a red cow to be “kosher” it must be totally red. A mere two black or white hairs, in close proximity to each other, disqualifies it. After the Biblical Exodus, the Tabernacle that Moses built served the Israelites for 40 years in the Sinai desert. Then there were two Temples that stood in Jerusalem for about a thousand years, from the 10th century BCE until the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE. Since then, there has been no Temple and, as far as we know, no kosher red cow – until now.

And now it seems that such a red heifer – two years old and unblemished – has appeared in Howell, New Jersey. The red cow was born to two black bovines on the farm of Herb Celler, the son of Auschwitz survivors. Rabbis are presently arriving from various locations around the world and, so far, the cow has passed the kosher test with flying colors – so to speak.

Video at link. Beautiful!

Well, it seems the heifer is 2 years old, has been repeatedly inspected, and the owner is getting ready to ship her to Israel. If you remember, not too long ago the Temple Institute folks were very excited, said they would be making an announcement this summer related to the Parah Adumah (red heifer).

Think about the reaction that will be forthcoming from the Arab world. The arrival of the heifer to Israel may be weeks before the fourth and last of the blood red moons, during Sukkoth. Isn't this exciting?

I believe that the tribulation may come in my life time. I pray that I never see it.

Me, too. I just hope that whoever ends up with my guns uses them to fight the antichrist.

It'll be a time of great cleansing. Lord knows the earth is definitely in need of it. It's in a state where the vilest and evil of passions are called good, and holiness and righteousness are called bad - just like the prophecies said it would be.

I’ve been watching a mystery series called Dig, which mostly revolves around a Jewish doomsday group bent on hastening Armageddon. They found the red hefer, born in Norway I think, and a Muslim group is trying to kill the hefer and the young Jewish kid tasked with transporting it to Israel safely. They also have an unblemished rabbi clone child, and the high priests chest plate with some magic stones lol. It’s a pretty good mystery drama.

Will the chief rabbis point to those facilitating the red heifer as being exciting with an eye toward the coming Messiah, or inciting further Jewish bloodshed on the Temple Mount?

Who's got the map with the X-marks-the-spot location for the altar to sacrifice it, or Holy of Holies to enter with burnt offerings, or what son of Levi has G-d's license to be present therein?

Enjoying the program as well, and it was the first thing I thought of when I read this. Glad you mentioned it.

Without the approval of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah and the Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah it’s just a curiosity.

It is exciting, thanks for posting this. We live pretty close to that part of new jersey so that is exciting too.

Of course! Isn’t that the idea of taking the heifer to Israel?

Most people seem to think the Chief Rabbis of Israel or the Temple Institute get to decide. The decision would probably be made before transport. These red heifers show up every so often and people use them to collect donations.

As an aside, the animal seems to be in a pretty ordinary pen with poorly maintained barbed wire fence where it could get a disqualifying cut or other injury. I’d be a little more careful with it.

Seeing who the author is, I'm surprised there was little cynicism in the article. Remember, Jacobovici styled himself The Naked Archaeologist and tried to foist, at Easter no less, that he had found the tomb of Jesus and family! He is a putz and most everything he writes is best used to line the bottom of bird cages!

Just watched the video, and payed particular attention to the wire enclosure. It’s not barbed wire thankfully. It looks to be plain wire, usually used for electrified fences. I don’t think it’s turned on. The hefer is pretty cute. :)

I believe so, too, but the fulfillment of “Peace on earth and good will to men” is where I go when I need. Thinking about it is overwhelming. Reading the Old Testament prophecies of the reign of the Messiah are astounding. No war. No locking doors. Children playing in the streets again. Lions and tigers and bears, no longer a danger. They can’t wait, either. Seeing angels 24/7 and the resurrected from the tribulation. Gonna be spectacular and dreamy. Maranatha!

I remember hearing something about this years ago. Is there someplace reputable to read more about this?

May it be G-d's Will that this cow will fulfill all the requirements!

Several years ago the Temple Institute planned to breed a whole herd of red cows to make sure a candidate would always be available when needed. But it was not G-d's Will at that time, and the cow that was the result grew non-red hairs and was disqualified.

Ken yehi ratzon!

We’ve already had a sign from God on Passover, when they hung the Prince of Life on a tree and put him in the grave for three days and three nights,

Unfortunately I clicked on the link and saw who the author was. Simcha Jacobovici is a nutter, one weekend he’s claiming to have discovered Jesus’ burial ossuary and the next its Mt Sinai, presumably all with DVD special forthcoming,

I’ve heard many many stories over the years of a red heifer being born and they always become invalid. With that said, I wish the Temple Institute well and hope they finally find what their looking for,

I hope they won't dismiss it out of hand.

And yes, I have reservations about these "Third Temple" groups too, but it has to happen sometime.
