God Would Have Spared Sodom for Less Than the Gaystapo Would Destroy a Baker

sodom-and-gomorrah

CNN published an inane hit-piece by Tim Holbrook yesterday, in which he argues that there is indeed bullying and denigration of gays and lesbians today, and therefore all the extreme measures to protect these wilting flowers is justified.

The lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community has long had various epithets hurled against its members. There are the well-known "f" and "d" words thrown at those perceived as gay or lesbian, respectively. And, of course, the line "that's so gay," which is meant to denigrate something or someone.
So, the first argument is summed up as "words exist."  Here, I'll use them:  "faggot" and "dyke."  They are not nice words to describe a gay or lesbian person.  but plenty of not-nice words are around and are used all the time.  How about Bill Maher calling Sarah Palin a "c**t," is that hateful and distasteful enough?  But nobody claims that conservatives deserve some special protection from emotional harm because some idiot uses that word.

Grow up.

Last summer, the Texas Republican Party's platform endorsed "gay conversion therapy," a procedure viewed as harmful and useless by psychology experts. In the last six months, a pastor in Arizona published videos suggesting the way to deal with AIDS/HIV under the Bible is to kill gays and lesbians. A lawyer in California even offered a proposal that would legalize the killing of LGBT people. Specifically, it notes that because same-sex relationships are "a monstrous evil that Almighty God ... commands us to suppress," then anyone engaging in same-sex conduct shall "be put to death by bullets to the head or by any other convenient method."
Some lawyer in California said something stupid, and GOP members in Texas think it's entirely acceptable that gays who want to live as straight men (or lesbians who want to live as straight women) should be able to seek out their own solutions, versus being forced by the state to accept a sexual preference they don't want.  You can pick your gender (Bruce) but you can't pick your sexual preference, that is unless you're choosing to be gay (which isn't a choice according to the "experts" who can't show a single scintilla of scientific evidence in favor of their conclusion).

And there it is: bringing God into it, for the "monstrous evil."  There's just no way to paint people as bullies without using the God-colored spray can.

Let's not pretend that this rhetoric is harmless. Statistics show that LGBT people commit suicide at high rates. Transgender people are frequently victims of violence.

Fortunately, for the most part, public reaction has been to swiftly condemn these comments. Nevertheless, rhetoric like this shows that LGBT opposition has not been silenced. This rhetoric itself is meant to silence. It is bullying.

You have to dig deep to find these statistics, which are published by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, an unbiased a source as any--if you count the Iranian Election Monitoring Board.  You can read it for yourself, but I'll save you the drudgery.  They define pretty much any unkind word, snicker, or adverse event in a transgender's life as "violence."  Or if s/he shows up to work at a construction job in high heels and lipstick, and ends up canned and heckled, that's a "catastrophic life event."  And don't even go there about prison life.

But fortunately, public reaction condemns stupidity.  In most things, this is true, except liberals condemning Bill Maher.

The Gaystapo and their vassals are seriously suggesting that "rhetoric like this shows that LGBT opposition has not been silenced."  The mere fact that someone says something stupid about gays and lesbians means that everyone must live under their thumb until all have been silenced.

This is a position so extreme that it's literally impossible to accomplish.  There will always be at least one idiot in the crowd.

Where does God and "monstrous evil" fit into this?

Let's look at God's standards for destroying a hive of buggery-addicted oversexed men, who prefer angels to women.  Genesis chapter 18.

Then Abraham approached the Lord. Abraham asked, “Lord, do you plan to destroy the good persons along with the evil persons? What if there are 50 good people in that city? Will you still destroy it? Surely you will save the city for the 50 good people living there.  Surely you will not destroy the good people along with the evil people. Then the good people and the evil people would be treated the same. You are the judge of all the earth. Won’t you do what is right?”

Then the Lord said, “If I find 50 good people in the city of Sodom, I will save the whole city because of them.”

Abraham continues to argue with God until they reach an agreement.
Then Abraham said, “Lord, please don’t be angry with me. Let me bother you this one last time. What if you find 10 good people there?”

The Lord said, “If I find 10 good people there, I will not destroy it.”

When the Lord finished speaking to Abraham, he left. And Abraham returned home.

So, for 10 people who agreed with God's law against homosexual behavior, God would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah.  The Bible doesn't tell how many people lived in those cities, but I think it would be a rather large population--some estimates put it at 600-1200.  And God would spare it for less than 1%.

But as long as even one pimply-faced 14-year-old continues to say "that's so gay," all Christians must be silenced.  Because bullying.

It's not bullying, it's bulls*t.

“That’s so gay” is as legitimate as the use of the word “gay” by the homoleftists.

Let me clarify.

Language is not static. While words DO mean things, frequently, over time, they come to mean completely different things. Classic example which has many people confused is the verb “regulate” as in “A well-regulated militia” clause of the 2d amendment to our US Constitution. It did NOT mean “heavily taxed or licensed” but “exercised, trained, experienced.”

The word “gay” once meant happy, light, joyful. The fact that youth today have adopted the word as a disparagement demonstrates how silly the homosexuals have presented themselves to the public as much as how words change over time.

No one aggrieved individual or group owns the language. While a long-standing tool of the left is to control language to control the argument, on this one they lose.

Making demands upon culture to keep a definition of a word static so that it remains favorable to YOUR agenda is, well, just SO gay.

What’s wrong with just saying no?

The funny thing is, “That’s so gay” was originally started by young people as a way to say “That sucks”, because they weren’t supposed to say “sucks”, and homosexuals, well, you know. Now nobody thinks twice about saying something sucks, but political correctness has made the euphemism into hate speech. But irony was never the politically correct crowd’s strong suit.

Yeah, that's a problem. You see, the same conscience that prevents Christians from banking cakes for gay weddings tends to prevent them from doing vengeful and hurtful acts. It's a God thing.

They don’t want the cake, and probably won’t eat it when they get it. This is all about you being forced under rule of law to deny your Christian beliefs. It really isn’t about cake.
