I never thought about it that way but you are right. They are ticked someone else is getting something for free. The whole “where’s mine?” attitude.
This is why I couldn’t be a business owner. I would document every cent that my business had ever donated to the kids in the community, send a notice that the program was ending effective immediately, and tell the “community” that since they were displeased with the donation I was providing to their children they could provide the goods/services themselves.

so poor kids get feed Monday thru Friday when school is closed during the summer they starve. When school is closed for holiday breaks poor kids starve...so these parents aren’t using their Foodstamps to feed their children???/
