Who is your favorite rock band ever?

Posted on 05/02/2015 8:51:26 AM PDT by ilovesarah2012

I saw The Doobie Brothers and Don Felder (Eagles) last night and they still sound great.

Eagles are my all-time favorite. I never get tired of listening to them. I'm a believer in rock keeping us young!

I’ve been a fan since Number of the beast came out. Love the DiAnno stuff as well. I get they they are too ‘hard’ for a lot of people. Different strokes and all that. But they are great for the exact reasons you mentioned. The last tour they did had them in better fighting trim that they were in in the 80s. For guys of that age to play that good for that long and never put out a truly ‘bad’ album is amazing. Blaze era wasn’t their finest work but it was good solid rock. When Dickinson returned and they released Brace new World it was like he never left.

Everything I ever read about them is they are ‘regular guys’ off stage without the primadonna BS that often follows their level of success.

I used to hate The Cure until recently. Once I really ‘listened’ to Disintegration’ I was converted.

Listen to the INTRO of The Kiss, on the album of the same name. Excellent guitar playing that talks to you, pleads with and rages at you. This blistering seranade, brought to you, from the leader of Cure, Roger Smith.

I didn’t care much for blaze either, he couldn’t hold a candle to Dickinson.

I can’t think of any real bad songs, metallica, motley crew, none compares to iron maiden heh.

“he couldn’t hold a candle to Dickinson.”

Aside from Halford and Dio, there’s really no one that could hope to. And even then the three are pretty distinct and hard to compare other than saying “truly great metal vocalists”.

I got to see Dio/Maiden/Motorhead. round the Dance of Death era. Brought the child (at the time) unit who had only ever seen a Brittany Spears concert. She’s been a metalhead since. Can’t understand why...;)

LOL, I actually started liking The Cure, when Robert Smith defeated Mecha-Streisand on South Park.

How can one not love such power and dignity? ;)

It came only lately for me. I forced myself to listen to Disintegration only to say that I had. Turns out I was glad I did. I really missed out for a long time.

Almost tame thing with Violator from Depech Mode. I never really disliked then though. they were always just sort of ‘background music’ to me. Love’em now.
