Three years ago construction of a very large house began (3500+ s.f. perhaps) on the 3-acre lot behind me. A white man and blonde-haired woman with toddler kids in tow walked the lot, chatted with the builder discussing I assume where the house would go. I thought how nice, a young family starting out, new house, cool. After a year of construction, the new family moves in. Not the white man and his blonde-haired wife and toddlers, but a middle-eastern-looking twenty-something couple with at least four kids all under school age. No moving van bearing belongings and furniture, just a new minivan bearing the new occupants. At some point half a dozen various dogs of miscellaneous size and breeds appeared as well.

Granted, all circumstantial - but it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up - so I tell myself it's just an overactive imagination, right? How does such a young couple support themselves and this huge brand new house and new van, when neither of the adults regularly leave the house. Work from home? Maybe. Kids rarely ever step outside to play, and never do they play with or touch the dogs. Home school? Maybe. Rarely any visitors, most likely relatives. Dogs only go outside to relieve themselves in their turn-out pen. Once in a while an adult goes out there for an hour or two and picks up the area. Never once has anyone ever walked this gaggle of dogs. If they are Muslims, why the dogs? Muslims don't like dogs. Are the dogs just a diversion?

I can't NOT watch this house, since my house with a wall of picture windows sits on the hill overlooking theirs (and all the other houses in the area); the entire neighborhood is laid out below. Hard to miss anything with what used to be a flawless 180-degree view until the area filled up with houses.

At the very least, it is just weird. I feel almost compelled to watch it, hoping to see some confirmation that I'm just being silly and have a wild imagination. Two years since they moved in, and the hair on my neck is still standing up.

Scary story. I don’t know where you live, but could it be that the house is a marijuana grow house and the “family” is there to run it?
