At this point, I think the show will outpace the book, and bring the story to an end. IIRC, it’s been booked for 7 seasons, but us readers are still waiting for book 6.

It’ll be kind of sad if it happens that way, as there are a number of storylines that I was hoping would make it into the show, and I’m curious how their stories will end.

Sending GRRM some more Lipitor...hoping he lives to finish what he started!

He said that there is a good chance he’ll have book six finished before the end of this year.

No idea about 7 though.

Hopefully that’ll be the case. I’m still rooting for Victarion Greyjoy.

Hodor for ‘Master of Whispers’ in 2016!!

“So.... The Wildlings are on an Island? How did they get there without Ships? “

The Wildlings are at Hardhome, on the East coast but as far north as the Fist.

Probably need the ships since walking isn’t safe these days.

I haven’t yet seen S505 - but I’ve read the books.

As I told my missus, Ramsey is the basically the devil’s son - you can’t hate that character too much...

Agreed.

I will surprised though if the author actually gets around to finishing “Winds of Winter”.

And from a previous post:
I don’t know if you are reading from paper or digital books, but I found a site where the guy has combined the time-lines of “A Feast for Crows” and “A Dance with Dragons” into a single (long!) story.

The site is designed to serve those who have already purchased the books:
http://ballofbeasts.weebly.com/chapters.html

For those who may not understand the significance of this project, these two books both start from the same point in time...

[The following contains book SPOILERS. Highlight if you would like to read:

[SPOILERS] In the books, there was a character called Jon Connington, and he was the one who rescued Tyrion from drowning and became infected with greyscale. Are they dropping the entire Jon Connington storyline with Young Griff? [/SPOILERS]

I think Hardhome is not an island, but rather a town next to a bay with waters deep enough to handle ships. According to the books, there used to be a town there, but now there are mostly ruins of the town and caves.

Did anybody else catch Stannis’ grammar correction towards the beginning of the episode? “Fewer”. LOL!

I’m guessing so, although I think the ‘Mummer’s Dragon’ storyline is all a ruse anyway. A Plan B by Varys and Illyrio in case their Plan A didn’t work out.

I really enjoyed the last scene in the boat with Tyrion as well.

I found it interesting that the dragon went "home" there. I'm starting to think that whole prodigal dragon story has promise.

Of course, I haven't read the books.

The hour was up.

Flesh it out in your head.

:D

I actually backed up the DVR, thinking I’d dozed off of something.

They just quantum-leaped from Tyrion being dragged into the abyss to the shore.

*I* thought that was to be the final cliff-hanger scene before the next ep...but no...

Martin said it was inspired by him watching his pet turtles fight and die over tank space/territory.

Sorta makes more sense, now, doesn’t it?

:)

Greyscale sounds like something this guy would scream about on late night TV.
